God's Divine Life & Business Plan For Me

"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; this is the will of God for your life"

Fourth Generation Entrepreneur

I have heard and read several people's philosophies on entrepreneurship in regards to many different topics...what does it take to become an entrepreneur; what does it take to become a successful entrepreneur; can anyone be an entrepreneur and the list of entrepreneurship topics goes on and on. For me personally, I believe I was born with entrepreneurship and in my blood.

My memory of entrepreneurship in my life begins with my Great-Grandfather, Ray Willis or Papa, to me and my sister. He was self-made successful entrepreneur who had worked hard to get to where he was when my first generation recollection of entrepreneurship began. When my sister and I were young our days were spent at my Papa's office, where my Gram and Mom both worked, as we played; watched and greeted all the employees and customers who would come into the office; ride around with our Papa to oilfield lease locations; and always end the day with our Papa stopping by the candy store to let us pick out a piece of candy (and yes this was an everyday affair, that probably contributed to all our cavities later in life). Going to my Papa's office everyday was my first impression of what it was like to be your own boss and as a child I thought it was grand and will never forget those precious moments I spent learning and watching from the man that gave me my first real impression of entrepreneurship.

The second generation of entrepreneurship recollection for me was of my paternal Grandfather, James Crain or Grand-daddy to me and my siblings. He owned and operated a hot oil trucking business in the oil and gas industry, I remembering as a little girl thinking he must work really hard because there was not alot of things I would ask him for that I wouldn't somehow get lol. Of course when your little that is how you determine success, however looking back now I remember that no matter how exhausted or tired he was from work he would always make time to play with me and my sister. He worked hard and loved hard and began a family business that my parents made the decision to buy after he retired from the trucking business, which I will forever be proud of.

Leading me into the third generation of entrepreneurship recollection in my life and the most influential of all and that is of my Father & Mother, Todd Crain & Jimmie Crain or Dad & Mom to me and my siblings. They started their relationship off as two young teenage parents, who gave up all their teenage dreams to buckle down and raise a brand new baby. That baby was me, I grew up watching them have multiple jobs to just keep food on the table; to obtaining better jobs as time went on; to my Mom going back to school to become a teacher; to taking a big risk and buying my Grandfather's company together; to growing one company into many companies, all the while raising four children and juggling all of the other responsibilities & roles in their lives. My Dad & Mom are by far two of the hardest working people I know, I've seen them have little and struggle to just make ends meet, to growing their businesses in order to becoming individually and financially successful by their own definition. Although they are not where they started, it is their strife to continue to work hard that has gotten them to where they are today. These three generations have influenced my life in ways that have given me the courage to take a risk myself to also become an entrepreneur and it is because of them I found my place in this crazy life some may call entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneur + Wife + Kids

I am a Christian wife, mom and entrepreneur who is madly in love with all four of these aspects of my life. I love my God, who I have been forturnate enough to form a relationship with at an early age in life and has continued to grow throughout my life. I love my husband, Brian, he is my rock; biggest supporter; amazing Daddy to our babies and my awesome crazy stabilizer when things in our lives become unpredictable or stray off course he is always there to step right in and make everything better. I love my sweet son, Cannon, he is my 3 1/2 year old baby boy who stole my heart from day one. I love my precious daughter, Caylor, she is my 1 month old baby girl who makes everyday worth living. The two of these adorable angels are who make being an entrepreneur worth it every single day - being to be there for them whenever they need me and the potential to grow something that one day they could continue on with - is the reason why I keep on keeping on!

Opening and running a start up business is hard; adding a franchise business to it is difficult; starting a family and throwing one child in the mix is challenging; popping out a second child 3.5 years later is chaotic and making the decision to start expanding my business into other areas is utter insanity but that is the beauty of entrepreneurship in my opinion, if you take advantage of those little gems of awesomeness above the more than not very diffcult and challenging aspects of owning your own business, you may just figure out a way to REDEFINE yourself and devise a plan that makes all that things you love about work, life, family and being a mommy possible.

This blog has is a NO TOPICS OFF LIMITS zone. It's been created as a personal journey as well as place for others who have or are in the process of RE-DEFINING themselves as a woman, mom, wife, friend, entrepreneur or whatever personal RE-DEFINING aspect it is you wanting to acheive.
